I sometimes wonder why people stay in or move to the City. According to some, those of us who choose to live in St. Louis have more than a few screws loose, so why are there 340,000+ of us within the city limits? Have I allowed a narrow view, the view of someone on the outside looking in, affect me?

What keeps the lady on the next block in her house? Is it her age, does she feel too old to move & start a new life? Can she not sell her house? Does she feel trapped? What keeps the family across the street in their 2 story home? Can they not afford a home in the county?

Or maybe the all really do like where they live...and why would that be the last reason I think of, shouldn't it be the first? What keeps people in their neighborhoods? I know the reason I stay, are my neighbors here for the same reasons?
