I agree. All of the hype about the makeover of the downtown store is not met with the actual changes made, which are small and do nothing to entice young people to the store. I actually liked the selection better when it was Famous-Barr, and even then had trouble shopping there.
At least there are still the cheap restaurants and the candy counter.
A) don't knock the restaurants, they are actually really good.
B) The strangest thing to me is that the women's department actually seems to have nice stuff. Its just the men's department that gets shortchanged. I have been told they are supposed to get nicer men's merchandise eventually when I went there to get socks a couple weeks ago and asked that particular question so there is hope.

As a Downtown resident, I have the same problem with Macy's. Other than business and urban apparel, there isn't much selection in clothes for men. While I may wear ties to work, I want more than baggy jeans and oversized polos for casual clothes.
