From the Southampton Yahoo Group:

There is a conditional use permit hearing for Cash Plus Inc., a payday loan chain, on Thursday, August 30th, 8:30 am, at City Hall. This chain is based in California. The proposed manager is Eric Fulchur. I'll be there to protest and speak, on behalf of MCIC and the Southtown Business Association.

I've been told this chain is trying to pass itself off as more of a bank, and will be offering fax, copying services, Western Union cash transfers, wi-fi access, etc.

The more people we have at the hearing, the better. If you are available that day, or know someone who would be interested, please come to city hall on the 30th. If you would like more information please contact or email me.

Unfortunately, I can't make it, but if you feel we have enough loan places along Kingshighway feel free to show up!

If you'd like to help Southampton out and voice your opposition to yet another cash place on Kingshighway, email Gregali here or at gregalis@stlouiscity.com.
